There's the answer. I did a flight with the MD-11 and did not do any step climbs and did receive descent clearances. Thanks for the help.

... it was the 737 but when I investigated further I saw that it had 4000fpm for the average climb and descent rates. I changed them to more realistic number and re-flew the flight. It worked perfectly that time. (Earlier post here).

I can't see how to adjust the default climb/descent rate you refer to for particular aircraft (the PFE value that ATC uses to calculate TOD that is, not in the aircraft itself of course). Could you please say how this is done? Thanks

Hi Martin

When you open PF2000 to compile a flightplan, press the button marked "select spec". you can change the aircraft/ Mach speed/climb and descent rates.
