Well I can only guess, since you haven't really given is much to go on.

Is this a new installation or did this used to work ?

Where have you installed PFE?

I wonder if your AV has removed the file PF_Emulator.exe?

Check your Anti Virus programs logs/quarantine area, it will tell you if it has removed anything, if it doesn't tell you stuff like this then it's time to get rid of your Anti Virus software as it's acting more like Malware than Malware does

Its a good idea to create a folder where you install FS related stuff and tell your AV software to exclude this location from scanning, then problems like this wont arise, either that or just go in an create exclusions for all your FS related install folder.

You admit yourself that this could be why, so did you check the logs and quarantine area? I know NOD32 does have them as I use ESET Smart Security myself, which is the next step up from NOD32. If it doesn't say anything then that wasn't the cause and you need to figure out what you have done.

When does PFE disappear, after initial load or just after you try to connect it to the sim? For the later there is a thread detailing how to fix this pinned on the forum along with a load of other FAQ's.
