I've heard many good things about PFE, so I purchased it... I spent hours last night trying to configure it to work and although I overcame a few hurdles like the converter not accepting my destination folder choice, and the compile button being greyed out, I never got it to work. I managed to convert an FP I had created in Plan-G, loaded the converted file in FP 2000 and complied it. I then loaded the ADV and hit the connect to FS (while sitting at a gate at Heathrow). The little message came up saying "PFE initialising" and after a few seconds disappeared with no confirmation. I tried the clearance channel, and the multicom channel but nothing. So I gave up.
Today I thought I'd have another go and now the compile button is greyed out no matter what I do. I've tried using converted .pln files which were working last night, but the comile button remains greyed out. I also loaded a saved ADV file from last night and same thing when I connect to FS, initialising message and then nothing... I'd love get this working so any help you can offer would be much appreciated....

My title may be a little unfair, considering I've only had it for a day and not yet asked for help. Apologies if my initial post come across the wrong way. I just struggled to find any similar user problems to explain a fix and I'm losing the will to live.

Thanks for the response, Dave. I did indeed watch all the tutorial vids and read every one of the FAQ's, which is why I've resorted to posting on here.

Select Options #1 from the main menu and check the setting for the Debug Level, if it's set to zero set it to 5

Let me know if that helps the problem of PFE not connecting to FS. As for the greyed out compile button that is well covered in the FAQ's

Right, I've finally got it working. I had to reinstall but followed the tutorial and it's now working. The only problem I have is the \ key doesn't do anything? It's supposed to be "Roger" but hitting it after instruction does nothing. Is that right, or does the fact that I'm using a UK keyboard layout mean "Roger" is actually a different key?
