Greetings

Another quick question. Just want to understand the flow of the program. If I load a compiled flight and then go through options 1 and 2; are my selections hard coded into the flight or into the program, or both? Here's my understanding so far:

-I load a flight, set options 1 and 2. I set up some waypoint altitudes and a SID. I do the flight.
-I then load a different flight. Will the options from the previous flight be in force? I'm guessing yes. In that case, it seems that the terms program options and flight options are interchangeable. Is that correct?

I am looking forward to learning how to use the program. I have used other ATC, and while this program requires a bit of work, practice makes perfect. This program has a very good feature set. I especially like the ability to set altitudes and SID/STARS.

Finally, I noticed this is the first update in some time. This is not criticism of any kind. I am just hoping that this is not just a one off. I'm sure that I and many others would be quite prepared to pay for serious upgrades to ATC done right. If you do plan on further updates, perhaps you would entertain a suggestion: The waypoint/procedure altitudes are excellent. Maybe you would consider at or above, at or below or at; when entering the values. If you don't wish to comment on this, please accept my apologies for bringing it up. Furthermore, if you are concerned about unleashing a wave of speculation on the site, please delete the post, or at least this paragraph.

Thanks
Graham

They're not hard coded they're configurable options and will be used for whatever flight you are using. Basically anything that's in the flight plan IS set in stone when you hit 'Compile', although the waypoint altitudes can be overridden in PFE as I'm sure you're aware.

The waypoint altitudes pertain to that flight only. If you load another flight you will see the waypoint altitudes for that flight. If you revert to the previous flight you will see a message indicating changed waypoints have been found for that particular flight and you will be asked if you want to use them again. SID/STARS are global

A one off !!!!

It may have been a while since the last update but at least there IS an update. We have released 35 updates since PFE's initial release in 2007. That's an average of 5 per year... or one every 2.4 months... or one every 10.4 weeks... or one every 72.8 days!!! And they've all been FREE !! :o  :? ;)

Thanks for the reply Dave

I only mentioned the one off as I am new to PFE and had read elsewhere that the software would not be developed further. I am quite happy to be wrong!!
