Hi David,

When last attempting to create a new PFE data base, I got error 429 stating that "ActiveX component can't create object erl: 0". Since last update, I have moved FDC to drive D: to clear disk space on C:. Could this be the cause of this error ?
Any clues ?
Would the re-install PFE on drive D: solve this issue ? Is it possible to keep the current C: version installed in case installation on D: would fail?

System is XP SP3
PFE Version 2.14.0
FS9.1

Thanks for your help.
Regards,
George

download and instal the latest cumulative updates package from our support forum, when installing please ensure you stop ALL other programs, especially your anti virus and any other security type programs you might have.

If you're running Windows Vista or later do NOT instal into the default "c:/program files" folder, because Windows regards that as a protected area and will prevent certain files being written and/or updated. I appreciate the installer defaults to that location but the publisher wrote the instal script long before Vista hit the shelves.

One more question here: the latest MakeRwys.zip from Paul Dawson is quite newer than the one suggested by PFE interface. Which one am I supposed to use?

Thanks,
Sabre.

Dave,

Sorry for disturbing you, but the very famous Error: 429 is back again with description : ActiveX component can't create object in 'SetupDirectSound' routine

This happened after removing all the outdated Java versions and fresh install of the latest one (could be important to mention this).

To correct this issue, I firstly run the cumulative pgm on both applications as previously proposed by you but, this time, without success.

After, and because I don't like to disturb busy sim products developpers, i have downloaded the last version of PFE from SimMarket (2.14.0) and installed it on a different disk (D:) after complete removal of the original one on the C: drive.
I was hoping that, if a piece of program was missing, a full new installation would help to sort out this issue... I am afraid that it didn't.
Actually, both programs are perfectly working as stand-alone processes but fail when connected to the FS.

Could it be caused by a missing/damaged vb program or dll ? You have the code so maybe could you give me a little help.

In advance, I thank you.

    Hi,

Thanks to Norton Ghost, I was able to restore a former backup and, after a few updates, all is working fine again.
    Back to basics...

    Sorry for inconveniences caused.

    Regards,
    George
