did a fresh install after PFE did not want to startup

most things work
but not hotkey 1 (and I suspect CS-W), so I cannot choose another Runway.
when I want to reassign - default - CS \ to merely \
"\" doesnt do anything, has to be CS-\
CS-V 2-3-4-5-6-7 etc work
when I do a 'reset to default', PFE CTD's after a Run-time error '381 Invalid property array index.'
when I restart, most default keys are set, but for "U" for Higher Altitude, and a 2nd "ESC" for Lower Altitide

I can 'Change Hotkey', these back to H and L, and this will work
But never does "1" work, or CS-W

??

also seems to react slow, compared to previous install
any chance of a remedy, or do I have to reinstall all over again?
I can remember I had problems with this sometimes with previous installs.
Is this a known problem?
Is there a way to clean out the Registry from all things PFE? (perhaps its old settings?)

Running FSX on an Windows7 RC7100 x64 box, WideFS to a Vista 32 box
have FSUIPC running, ASX, and GPS via WideFS

figured I check the log and says:
****** HotKey #2 detected!
(several times, I kept pushing)
and after that a lot of position checking
but nothing really happening

does react to
****** HotKey #7 detected!
and then follows a radiocheck

also found a
Error in NET SaySentence: Error in the application.

reinstalled, same
then had a clever Idea
seems it looked like memory corruption
so, reduced
[BufferPools]
PoolSize=2800000
and made Virtual Windows Page File instead of 'Windows Controlled' to
'Set - same - Sizes', on my Notebook 4GB, on my FSX Box 6GB, i.e. 'big'

and the keys now - almost - work
had to change Override from CS-W to C-W and now I can interrupt and change Runways
and reaction time is fast again

I set the Pagefile to a Fixed setting 6.141GB
not the default 'windows decides'
and no more weirdness
memory trouble? it's like the old days of windows 95
