I have used FS Build to compile flight plan-gone into FSX and loaded the flight plan with no isssues, then compiled it within PFE to the 2000 format etc then looked at the waypoints and adjusted a couple of height settings.Following this I wanted to define the entry and exit points for the Atlantic crossing but the 'Define Oceanic Airspace' button was greyed out and obviously could not use it.

The actual flight plan compiled within FS Build matched exactly to the one compiled within PFE so that was not a problem.

However,I am concerned to note why the Define Oceanic space button is not working.

Would welcome any feedback.

If the flightplan has been created and compiled correctly you shouldn't have an issue.

What was your flightplan and besides it being greyed out,any other messages?

I guess I may not have compiled the flight plan correctly.

I will come back to you if I have the same issue again.

Last night I used FS Build for a flight KJFK to EGLL incorporated the NATS process and then auto generated.I then went into PFE and compiled the flight etc and again the Oceanic Aispace button greyed out even though the waypoints button worked fine.

In the PF 2000 the flight is listed as PFE_KJFK-EGLL.PLN

The flight is also listed as KJFK_EGLL in my Flight Simulator files.

I am just concerned as to why I cannot enter the Oceanic Space section in order to enter my start and end sections for the Transatlantic Crossing.

I would appreciate some help please.

You can only do this if you are not using NATS..
As you have added the North Atlantic Tracking System then your button will be greyed out as mine is because it's done correctly within PFE and the real world...

Thanks for your reply Dave,

So are you saying that it is just best to compile a normal flight plan within FS Build and not complete the NATS section and therefore just use PFE as normal

Thanks,

Michael

I have just entered another flight EGKK to KSFO into FS Build autogenerated/built the plan and did not complete the NATS process and again within PFE the Oceanic Airspace sector was greyed out. This 'greying out' only seems to occur when I am compiling transatlantic flights.

I would appreciate your further assistance please.

When creating a flightplan with FS Build or any other flightplanner, make sure you don't have NATS in the flightplan ie: 6510N,5730N etc, these are your NATS co-ordinates and that is why you cannot Define your "Airspace"
You will have to manually remove these waypoints/co-ordinates from within the FS Build flightplan (see FS Build forum for further details if unsure) of how to do it...

Hi Dave,

Many thanks for your reply.

I have gone back into FS Build auto generated a flight plan KJFK to EGLL and then took out the NAT's co-ordinates ie. 6510N,5730N etc and then clicked on build,I did not touch the NATS process.I then went through the PFE process complied the flight etc and yes this time the 'define oceanic' airspace lit up and I was able to enter that page.

However, the part of the reason for me going into that section is to enter the start and end processes for the Atlantic crossing.

Now having gone into that page I do not have any co-ordinates in there therefore I cannot see how I can enter this information as prior to using FS Build the co-ordinates were already there.

I have obviously done something wrong somewhere and would appreciate further assistance please.

Many thanks in anticipation.

This is specifically for flightplans that do not want to use co-ordinates(NATS) only waypoints,so you need to choose here what you want...

You can have one or the other, but not both....
