I just purchased the 2011 and ran into this. I saw a similar message but with a slightly different 214 #. I tried to re-install. I even did the repair option and it seems to load fine however when I go to connect to FS9 this message appears. I too have always had great satisfaction with the FDC until the 429 nightmare. So I upgraded to 2011.

Equipment used: Gateway FX6800 Vista 64 bit with SP1 8 Channel (7.1) High Definition Audio with Extreme Gamer.
Any suggestion?

Try installing the cumulative updates package from this forum and when doing so please ensure you stop all other programs, especially your anti virus and any other security type programs you may have.

Did as you suggested with nothing else open and shut down anti-virus. Got the following: Can only be installed in FDC 2.0 or higher. Tried to attach image but unable. [img]

Installed on to different drive, did the cumulative updates and same result. Now what?

What version of FDC do you actually have?

The new FDC Live 2011. I completely removed all prior folders & files for Aersoft so I could start fresh. Did a defrag and system cleaning and down loaded the cumulative updates prior to installing the new 2011.
I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out why this is not functioning properly.

HISTORY: I purchased the original FDC back in 05 and it worked great !!! Never had an issue until one morning doing everything as usual to do a flight from SFO to BOS and when I went to connect I received the 429 error message. I had checked the forum and found out I was not the only one. I did everything suggested to me back then, updates and the 3.14. I took my computer back to Best Buy and had the geek squad check everything including all the drives but was never able to correct the situation so I went without using FDC. I started looking at other programs but after using FDC nothing else compares so a few weeks ago I spent another $55 and purchased the 2011 version hoping for better luck. It installed fine without any issues but when I went to connect to fs9 I received the 2146232576 error. I came back here (forum) and did everything you suggested with no improvements. $110 later with two different programs and no success. At this time I do not know what else to try? Now I'm frustrated.

I'm really sorry you purchased the product twice as it is the same program... Unfortunately I have no control over the publisher but it might be worth explaining the situation to them and suggesting you return the product in exchange for something else.

When installing fdc I'm assuming you don't have any security type products running at the same time. Also it's best NOT to install into the c:\programs file folder

Hello Dave and anyone else who'll listen. Here we go again. After almost a year later and in looking at various other forums regarding this topic as well as the 429 error, I have determined that this is a program issue. Reason? well after seeing so many other people all around the globe experiencing the same issues with this error and the 429 error, I find it hard to believe that all of us are not doing things correctly. And what I find even more disturbing is that it once worked fine without any issues at all. I realize that FDC was created long before the dreaded vista, win7 & 8 but one would think that after all these issues/complaints the designers/programmers would have made a patch or some thing to simplify this. I have tried EVERYTHING suggested to me and then some. I installed it into another drive other than C, did the UAC thing, did the run as admin, did the accum update and completely removed my anti virus and disabled my firewall. I even went as far as to try the install procedures for other error codes that FDC users have shared with me and still nothing. FDC is a GREAT addition and really enhances the flight sim experience when you can get it to work properly!!! At this point having spent over $110.00 I'm almost regreting having purchased this.
For Christmas, my buddy got a brand new Dell system with all the bells and whistles. I brought both my discs (FDC & FDC 2011)over to his place and got the same results. Does anyone out here know how to contact the publisher/designer? Is there an 800#? I'll even gladly pay the International rates on a phone call provided I can get this progam working again. I love this program and find simming without it is nowhere near as fun. Infact I hate flying without it. No programs should be this difficult and frustrating to operate !!!

it's really really difficult to go back. I have spent a lot of time, money and energy researching this and I would really like to have my FDC working again !!!
NOW WHAT ?

Have you thought of using a soundcard like Creative rather than onboard sound,something could be interfering with it,also upgrade to Windows 7 or 8 see if that helps sort your problems.
Reason i say this is,because i use Windows 7-64 with Creative XFI soundcard and don't have any issues...

Currently using the dreaded vista. I'll look into a new sound card. Can you think of anything else?
