I did what you suggested......... I even went one step further and completely removed all aerosoft files/folders from my computer so I can start from scratch. I also did a system maintenance clean up and defragmented my computer system. I shut down ALL firewalls and anti-virus protection, re-installed FDC, tried to run the accumulated update and again...........No success............ Keeps telling me that it was installed incorrectly and that I need 2.0 or higher.............. Now I feel I'm at a total loss......... I really like the product. Maybe if I new what caused this to begin with, I can go back and either undo/redo the settings to avoid this in the future.

Well the cumulative update will instal over that no problem so it sounds like you may be doing something wrong during the instal. Pay particular attention too the instal path.

I believe you're running win7 64 so its best to steer well clear of c:\program files

TWA,
As Dave M said steer clear of default setup,so create yourself a new partiton on your harddrive, label it Oncourse or whatever, need about 18gigs to give yourself plenty of room, reinstall FDC and all will be fine...im running win 7-64 no probs here

There is absolutely no need for a new partition I actually recommend the opposite, never have more than one partition on a drive, buy another drive if you want to see an improvement in performance, making another partition on a drive will generally decrease performance.

Just install PFE and FDC to their own custom location, something like C:\PFE or D:\FDC etc would do nicely and the Windows 7 nanny state security features should leave you alone. You absolutely must do this when installing FSX and FS2004 too otherwise you are asking for problems when working with third party apps like FDC, PFE.
