I'm stumped on this one.

In my little world, I generally fly propeller aircraft - large ones that typically fly in pattern around 150 - 160 KIAS. I am being irritated by constant calls when approaching airports to reduce speed to 140, whatever aircraft I am flying. If I complied, I would be gazing at the stars, or plummeting downwards tail-first in some cases.

According to the manual, this is controlled by settings in [Tweaks] section of the PF_Emulator.ini file.

FinalApproachSpeed=OFF would achieve that result

FinalApproachSpeed=0
will base the instructions on the Flaps_Up_Stall_Speed in the aircraft.cfg

FinalApproachSpeed=20 will base the instructions on the Flaps_Up_Stall_Speed in the aircraft.cfg plus 20 knots (rounded off)

None of these settings make the slightest difference for me, I seem stuck with the first option. Currently I have FinalApproachSpeed=30 set. I have tried various figures up to 90! I have also tested by increasing the figures in the aircraft.cfg file but no joy there either.

I would be interested in either making this work correctly, or switching the feature off altogether. All I can do at the moment is ignore the repeated instructions.

John

Hi John,
Please email the debug monitor files from the .../Logs folder. Zip them first though.

Will do - apologies for the opportunity having not yet arisen to make a suitable flight. Its a pain when things in the real world get in the way of fun . . .

I was wondering if you have had a chance to look at this yet, Dave? I remember you had some personal pressures when I first raised this two months ago.
