Today, I think I had a problem with my VCP and auto-frequency changes:

On a flight from EGNM to EHAM, EGNM has Clearance Delivery and Tower facilities. I had the options set ON to Auto-tune the initial facility but set to OFF to Auto contact the initial facility.

I contacted Clearance manually (key 0). Clearance is confirmed. However, I am not advised to contact Tower on xxx.xx. Consequently, my VCP did not auto-dial in the Tower frequency.

When ready for Pushback, I had to manually dial-in the Tower frequency and make contact (key 0).

When ready to taxi, I again contacted Tower (key 0) and was instructed to taxi to holding point RW14.

Should Clearance have handed me off to Tower? Should my VCP have auto-dialled in the Tower frequency?
