Every now and then, when starting PF3, it asks to DL the above file. This does not happen every time. Usually I just ignore it. Pf3 seems to run OK without installing the file. What's up?

The Windows Desktop x86 Runtime library is required for the new PF3 Update routine introduced in September 2022 - this forum message explains:

Many systems already have this runtime installed; as yours doesn't, please download and install it - the message shouldn't then appear again.
(The update routine checks for new versions of PF3, typically daily; the new version addresses some issues with the previous version.)
