Good evening,

With the latest version, if I select ‘Check Updates’ I get an error message that says “To run this application, you must install NET Core. Would you like to download it now?”

I select yes, download and install Download .NET Core 3.1 Runtime.

I now have it on my system but the error persists. Even after a reboot.

I notice in the 3.17.0 change log that there has been a fix for users that had an issue with a manual update. I have never had an issue but have one now that there has been a fix!

It does not seem to effect the operation of PF3.

I am on Windows 11.

I got the same message this morning, so I downloaded it and installed it.

And after that it was okay?

I had it once, and did as I was told.

Since then the message blinks up momentarily and disappears before you can say Jumbojet so it is no bother to me.

My apologies, I built the new PF3 update routine in the same way as Web Display, so it too requires the .Net 3.1 runtime library.
Unfortunately it does seem to be missing from a fair number of systems.

The correct version of the runtime can be downloaded from the Microsoft website using the following link:
https://download.visualstudio.microsoft ... in-x86.exe
Run the downloaded file (windowsdesktop-runtime-3.1.28-win-x86.exe) to install the runtime library; this should resolve any issues.

Unfortunately downloading and installing the file does not work, either the 3.1.22 or 3.1.28 version.

Is there something that needs to be turned on in Windows Features to turn on the Net 3.1 runtime library?

I eventually sorted it out. Google is your friend! In my case, I had to install the Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime - 3.1.28 (x86), not the dot net-runtime-3.1.28-win-x86.exe.
