Not a one-off issue, though certainly not something I notice every flight, either... I think I have posted about this before, but a long time ago and I cannot locate the thread now.
I wonder why I am sometimes not given any climb instructions by ATC. I climb to the altitude given by clearance before departure, then after a while grow a bit 'suspicious' (given I know this happens from time to time) that I have not been asked to climb any further. If I 'log in' to ATC under those circumstances, I quite often hear the pilot say that he is '... out of flight level (current altitude) for flight level (new altitude)', though no climb instruction to that new altitude has been given (I double check that with the COM log).
Does the log (of a flight where this occurred, of course) show any reason for this? I don't think it can be an error on my part, certainly not every time it happens at least (even then not sure what input from me could cause the issue)!
Many thanks.
