No screen shot included. However, I would suggest you try turning off PF3 skins via the Option #2, advanced options section

When I went into the advanced options tab it gave an error window.

Run-time error -2147221164 (80040154)
Class not registered

When I clicked ok on the error PF3 shutdown.

Try reinstalling the latest cumulative updates from this forum and make sure you run it as administrator

Hi Dave, ran the update again with Admin rights double checked and same result on launch. Firewall/AV off during the installation.

Am I right in assuming you have been unable to turn PF3 Skins OFF?

If so please open the PF3.INI file, using Notepad, then search for the 'UseSkins=' entry and set it to UseSkins=0

Thanks Dave, I edited the .ini and I am getting the same errors when trying to set the flight plans path and also the same error when accessing the advanced options /ini.

Dave just to add that PF3 installation is on a networked machine and it is seeing FSX and WideFs is working fine.

Mmmmmh, very, very, VERY WEIRD!!

I think the only thing to try now would be a complete reinstall... although maybe first checking to see if your Anti Virus has quarantined any files recently
