Hi,

i have changed my system to win7 and FSX, have installed PFE. When i start PFE i get an "run-time error 52". I have checked the MSVCR71.dll (it was missed at the first installation of PFE): Windows/SysWOW64/MSVCR71.dll and Windows/System32/MSVCR71.dll and in PFE/main.

Can someone help me? I can't fly without PFE.

Regards, Chris

Hi Chris,

Personally I haven't had any issues with PFE and FDC running on Win 7. That particular file, which I believe to be part of the MS C runtimes, is not part of the PFE installation... as far as I am aware. I say that because I didn't build the installer, that's Aerosoft's department.

The only issue I've had to date was with installing my developer app's on Win 7 and I had a DLL missing. All I did was google the name, download, install and register it and bingo.

Thanks for your answer Dave. Have tried to start PFE today (after registering dll's and many installs) but i get the same error. I don't have the Aerosoft version of PFE i use Flight1's. I will try some other things to get PFE ready.

Regards, Chris

Are you saying you installed and registered that DLL but you have the SAME error message about that DLL. If that is the case then the DLL cannot be in the correct folder or has not been registered.

No Dave, i get the "runtime-error 52" message when i try to start PFE. The install works well. The Proflight2000 Program (PF2K) starts without problems. Hmm, i think i give up now.

I'm happy, PFE works now! The problem was the compatibility mode, i have set it to WinXP SP2.

Thanks for letting us know Chris, but how very strange that I don't have to do that on my Win 7 system.

I have Win7 64bit, and I have a similar problem: missing msrcv71.dll at the FIRST installation. When I was running XP there was no problem.

At the FIRST installation of PFE I received the message that msrcv71.dll was missing or corrupted, so I donwload it from internet and copy it in:

C:\Windows\System32

C:\Windows\SysWOW64

C:\Programs Files (x86)\Aerosoft\PFE

So reinstall PFE, and then DELETE msrcv71.dll in ALL the folders.

Then install cumulative update and now works fine.

But what is due this .dll problem? in XP there was not any one.

I hope this issue can help anyone.
