ATC Vector Issue

Everyone,

I changed my FAF settings back to 7NM and believe I got it back on point. I took a flight from PNH-REP and had to request FL20 as indicated in my flightplan. I got within about 60-70 NM before ATC told me to descend to 2,500. It was a rollercoaster approach all the way into REP with speed brakes activated til I was lined up with the FAF.

Approaches with speed brakes out are not uncommon. It's a requirement for all the Northern Italian airports. As the incomming flight first has to cross the Alps and then immediately below is the airport. Turin is the worst for that. One usually turns onto finals from the NW with the speed brakes still out!
