I have cut the Buffer values in half.. This has allowed me to add more waypoint and position my aircraft closer to the IAF to minimize vectors...

I have not had any problem doing this...I am using FS2004...

But as Dave said..."at your own risk"

Luc,

Use Notepad to open the PF2000.CFG file which you will find in

...\Your_PFE_Folder\FS2000\PF2000

Scroll down to the Realism section and look for the following options

WaypointBuffer=10
DeptBuffer=10
DestBuffer=15

The WaypointBuffer is the minimum distance allowed between your flight plan waypoints.... anything closer and PF2000 will drop a waypoint

The DeptBuffer is the minimum distance from your departure airport for your first waypoint.... anything less than this and PF2000 will from the waypoint from your flight plan

The DestBuffer is the minimum distance from your destination airport for your lat flight plan waypoint.... anything less than this and PF2000 will from the waypoint from your flight plan

I have no idea how PF decides on which waypoint to drop if and when it finds two that are closer than the permitted value as described above.

As Ray 'L' mention he has reduced each of the above options and doesn't have any issues, but I have to say this, Ray is a real world pilot and takes particular care in planning his flights, using the relevant charts and of course his experience. So I'm not at all surprised Ray has tweaked things to work just right 'for him'

All I would suggest is to perhaps try one option at a time and ensure things a working okay for you first, before moving onto the next and don't change any option too much initially.

Once you're happy with the results perhaps you could report back and let us all know what works 'for you'

Oh yes, one final thing, if you do change any of the above options you will have to recreate you ADV file(s) for the changes to be applied.

Yes, it's good, it does work, all waypoints appear now :) .

I set the 3 values to "5".

Just a thing, I don't understand why some points are repeated.

For example, for a flightplan made with "FS Commander" :
LMFL - ZEBRA - MAZET - AVN - MTL - PIMAK - SULOT - AMDAS - LFLC

I've have, after compilation with PF2000
LMFL - ZEBRA - MAZET - AVN - AVN - MTL - MTL - PIMAK - PIMAK - SULOT - AMDAS - LFLC

It's not very serious but is there a way to correct this before the new version ?

There's nothing to correct... that's what PF does and that's how PFE works. When you select 'adjust flight plan waypoint altitude' you are looking at the internal parameters used by PFE so please don't concern yourself if it looks strange. It works ;-)

Ok, but it's very strange. Why 2 MTL for example, this waypoint is not a TOC or a TOD ... it only a simple waypoint...
