OK, I am going to run the same flight, KJFK-LFPG in Concorde again and I won't press #0 the whole flight. I have also changed the penultimate waypoint in PF3 (SAUVA) to FL370 rather than 550.. I'll let you know how it goes!

Same flight, KJFK-LFPG; this time I didn't touch a single thing (I wasn't even in the room for much of it). Whatever you see in the log was done wholly by PF3.... No descent instructions came until I was almost on top of the airport, just the same as before.

Thanks Dave,

Martin

Martin,
couple of things..have you done a profile in PF3 for Concorde?
Secondly when approx. 350nm's out why not ask for a lower altitude...that usually does the trick and the ATC usually starts your descent and soon as you get lower altitude also start to slow your aircraft down, have done this in the past...
hope this helps

Hi. I have an FDC profile. What profile should I have in PF3?

Martin
It should include an approach speed of 190kts.

My problem is not being given any initial instructions to descend from FL560... how would setting final approach speeds will have any effect on that?

Nothing except that it is part of the profile. But in Concorde all your approach, descent speeds are critical.

Martin,
download my zip file that I have just posted about declaring a Mayday...that was a Concorde flight from Heathrow to JFK and I got descent instructions without any issues....and a good distance out.
Try my flightplan and see how you go... I created a profile in PF3 using 1500f/p/m climb and approach and an approach speed of 170kts..also used a med runway, this is done on flightplan page.

OK Dave, downloaded the zip and will give it a try - may have to wait for the Christmas holidays now though!

Thanks

Martin
