So, having a need to halt a flight, I thought I'd use PF3's resume function but failed!

I had enabled autosave data in PF3's options
I was in the enroute portion of the flight
I paused FSX and saved the flight
I disconnected PF3 and closed
I closed FSX

Later...

I restarted FSX with the same saved flight
Let it fully load to the cockpit in pause
Opened PF3 expecting the warning that saved data was detected so I could restart flight
Nothing, just stayed waiting for me to load a flight plan.

What did I do wrong?

The PF3 resume function is intended for use should PF3 fail, so to emulate that you need to stop PF3 via the task manager, then you'll get a 'resume last flight' prompt on your next restart. :)

Ah, that wasn't entirely clear from the help docs. I read it as if there wasn't a completed flight i.e. you hadn't landed rather than just an error situation. Perhaps this is a good point to ask for a new feature :-) to add the option to have elective restarts of flights? work around noted, thanks.

for the moment you can try to close PF3 with the "red cross" so it will use the resume function if resuming the flight later after closing FSX
