Good news to report at last. This IFR flight in the Phenom 500 was the tops. Everything went well and for the first time I could enjoy the ATC and my co-pilot's radio transmissions with confidence.

I wonder if entering the Sids and Stars helped? By the way. Can someone tell me what these acronyms mean please?

Next up VFR from Farnborough to my home airport Bristol but that'll be tomorrow.

It means ATC can tell an aircraft to fly a specific procedure without having to vector them, and know exactly where and at what altitude the aircraft will fly.

Just to mention that in PF3, activating the SIDs or STARs feature means that you have a departure or arrival procedure you want to use, and PF3 will therefore not vector you. You would need to consult the appropriate charts because PF3 does not know the details of your procedure and assumes you know how to fly it. If you activate the STARs feature, PF3 will assign an arrival runway and clear you to fly there "at pilot's discretion" so you will need to get there and line up with the runway, rather than being vectored there.

I flew into from Farnborough Bristol in Ants Eaglet. It turned a short VFR flight into a fairly long one because the Eaglet struggles with speed. So that was a good excercise. It was good too because I have a female co-pilot for PF3 ATC and had an attractive female co-pilot sitting beside me.

I must admit that when I got there and down on the ground I had to choose my own parking space. I think somewhere around the final approach I missed an instruction which I thought my co-pilot would take care of and didn't. I think I'll keep her though. I do wish more Flight Sim' aircraft were supplied with people in them. Passengers or co-pilots. It shouldn't be too difficult but I think the developers are probably really only concerned with the engineering. The Hawker had a passenger in it but it has not yet been adjusted for LM P3Dv3.3.5.
