Hello,

I flew from EGCC to EKCH several times. On each flight, PF3 vectored me from the last waypoint of the flight plan to runway 22L, the only runway I had set up in the SID/STAR page for landing. But the vectors I got didn't work to intercept the localizer. I don't remember the headings I got, but from the last waypoint the vectors took me close to the localizer track, but in the opposite direction. Then a right turn very late and very far away from the threshold (about 20NM or more), which caused me to overshoot the localizer. Finally, a right turn onto a heading parallel to the localizer with an offset to the left of the localizer. At the end I had to correct my course to the right to intercept the ILS.
Also the final altitude was much too high (4000ft). I set the minimum FAF altitude to 2500ft and a distance of 10NM.
For other flights to other airports I got much better vectors. So I assme there is somthing wrong with the flightplan.
Any advices are welcome.

Cheers
Jens

I don't actually think that approach was bad. ATC had to vector you out further than normal as you were crossing the approach path of 22R. You're final turn was at 17nm

Thank you very much for the explanation. I did not know that PF3 takes the approach to 22R into account, although I configured 22R for takeoffs and 22L for landings only on the SID/STAR page.
I changed the airport settings and i just finished the approach to 22R and it was perfect now. Is it possible to 'close' 22R for PF3 somehow, so that I get such a nice approach also for 22L? Maybe by deleting 22R within the database?

Cheers
Jens

The problem is although you 'close' 22R in PF3 that only works for PF3 and not AI Traffic

Hi Dave,

I fly with X-Plane and the PFEToXPlane plugin. As far as I know, AI traffic is not recognized at all.

Well PF3 wouldn't know that... it thinks you're using FSX and even if you had AI traffic turned off it would still use the same criteria during approach vectoring.

Hi Dave,

I understand. So for the future I can take this into account when planning my flights.
Thank you for you great support and the quick analysis of the problem. I appreciate that very much.

Cheers
Jens
