I like to fly VFR and am very happy with PF3, however when I want to land at a medium or larger airport I find that calling downwind, base and final a bit unrealistic. I was wondering if you can change to IFR in mid flight and get normal vectors to finals or if there is some other way. I am a new user, so if something is obvious that I have missed, please be gentle. Thanks in advance.

Why do you say calling Downwind, Base and Final is unrealistic if you're flying VFR?

If you tune to FSS (default is 122.20) you can use Hotkey #6 to toggle from VFR/IFR
