I am getting a connect error code 2146232576-240 when trying to connect to FSX.

I have run the validation utility and it shows no errors, however, looking at an earlier post with this error code, you mention looking for a "control_mapping.dat" in the PF3 Data folder, I do not have this file, can you advise please?

Try installing the "DirectX for Managed Code runtimes" from the second entry on http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/pf3_faqs.htm

Edit: Scratch that, this was a different problem, even though it was reported in a thread about the error you got.

Edit2: Or maybe it helps anyway? The posts in viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2588&start=1 are a bit confusing

Please ZIP and attach all LOG files from your PF3\Logs folder

Installed the DirectX for Managed Code runtimes and that seems to have fixed it.

It also asked to update some .Net stuff, which I let it do, anyway everything seems fine now.
