Hi Dave,

I hope you and yours are all well and staying safe.

On departure I have several airports where I join the runway well short of the end and taxi along the runway to the line up point.
Would it be possible to contact tower before entering the runway and ask to line up and wait rather than say you are ready for take off or asking ground for permission to continue taxi.
Just a thought.
