Hi Guys

is there a way I can send the voice / output through my headphones?

I have MCE coming through my headphones and all other sounds, eg engines going through my speakers, but PF3 is also coming through my speakers. I would only like MCE & PF3 going through headphones and everything else via speakers, is that possible?

I used the windows 10 default audio router...

Start Menu & type Sound, come down to the bottom and look for "Advanced Sound Options" make sure pf3 is running, and then change the settings on the right once youve selected PF3 and change from Default to "Headphone" or whatever your device is called, close and thats it :)

Ok, thanks. I think I've tried that already, but I guess I'll have to try again! Also, look for a way to automate the switch...

This would be nice, maybe an autohotkey script can perform the steps?

An alternative would be to make this part of your virtual flying checklists. I'm using one that includes things like where to connect USB cables of yoke/pedals/..., when to turn on USB ports (I have a USB hub with switchable ports), when to start certain addon software (PF3 and many others), which virtual desktop they should go to, etc.

virtual flying checklists
I have those as well... ;) Still I'd like to automate this particular case.

So, if I use the Win 10 audio settings, it seems to work (haven't done a real flight yet, just fooling around) - but only once. Even though Windows remembers the audio settings, PF3 doesn't care and outputs the sound through the default device. I have to switch the output away and back to the desired device, and then it works.

Would be really cool if we didn't have to do that every time...

Here is what I do to make that process a little easier:

- I created a desktop shortcut to

ms-settings:apps-volume

That will lead you directly to the sound settings.

- I open the sound settings via the shortcut, run PF3 and play a sound in PF3 by going to Options #1 and selecting a voice in "Taxi Guidance System - Voice Prompt".
That way PF3 becomes active in the sound settings. After having set the output device there once, Windows remembers that setting.

Nevertheless it seems to be necessary to open the sound settings page (which can easily be done by the shortcut) any time you run PF3 to make PF3 adhere to that setting.

I plan to look for a PowerShell commandlet or other tool to integrate into my start-up script. Until now no luck, though

So, my plan was to switch the default "Multimedia" output device to the head-set using NirCmd, then start PF3, then switch back to speakers. Unfortunately this doesn't work as planned. It only works if PF3 outputs a sound during the temporary switch - then it sticks with the head-set. If the first sound played comes after the switch back to speakers, that's where PF3 goes. Is there a way to get PF3 to automatically play a sound, like a start-up sound?
