Hi,
Using the default FAF distance of 7 and even a lower FAF altitude of 2,500 (default is 3,000) I get vectors which bring me to intercept the localizer too late (after the GS is below me) forcing me to disconnect the autopilot and manually intervene.
This happens in airports which are around sea level. Does this make sense?

Thanks,

Shomron

Couldn't possibly comment without seeing the log for that flight

I have my global FAF altitude set at the default 3000, FAF distance set at 9, and leave the individual airport FAF settings (on the SID/STAR page for the airport) at the default 0, and catch the glide path from below in almost all cases.

I use 9NM and 3000ft, too.

I also use the default settings with no issue. Sometimes slightly above glideslope, sometimes slightly below. But never a problem catching the glideslope after being handed off to Tower.

How much above glideslope have you been? And why did you have to disconnect the AP? Doesn't it have a V/S setting? Apart from that, if you think you are too high, reduce your speed early to allow for a steeper descent as soon as you are cleared. The speed restrictions PF3 gives are maximum speeds.

Hi,
I am attaching an example of an overshoot.
FAF default ALT is set to 2,000 ft at a distance of 8 NM however approach cleared me to 4,000 ft (final altitude before clearing me for the approach).
