Greetings,

Using X-Plane 11 thru the plugin, I received the following when attempting to connect to PF3:

'Problem finding Flight Sim handle'

I have not seen this before and don't know what it means. Can someone explain?

Try installing the DirectX for Managed Code Runtimes.

You can get the link from the second item on our FAQ's page

Did it work?

Unfortunately, no. This just started yesterday and I am using XP11 with the plugin.

Something must have changed then I guess. The plugin?

PF3 grabs the flight sim (Windows) handle (FS98MAIN) which is relevant for FS2004, FSX and P3D. It needs this for various things like using DirectX when playing sounds and setting FS as the foreground app after you hit 'connect', etc, etc. So it's quite important and PF3 cannot work without it. It may well be that with any FS where FSUIPC is involved it (FSUIPC) may change that name to the common FS98MAIN, but I really don't know. What the XP plugin does though I have no idea. Sorry

Thanks Dave. I've reached out to the plugin developer but have not heard anything.

This post is old now, but anyone with this error might fix it simply by looking at the plugins menu from within X-Plane and click 'Enable' on PFE to X-Plane. It should then remain connected.
