I am having issues with designating the cleared altitude on a SID out of LOWI.

I use the RTT sids and I have entered the altitude at RTT as 9500. When I depart rw08, I am initially cleared to 7000, with further clearance after takeoff to 9500. However, if winds dictate a rw26 departure, I am cleared only to 7000 and only get further clearance to 9500 AFTER passing RTT.

I attach my FP and PF3 Alt Settings.

Is there something I am doing wrong?

Thanks
Bill

Please recreate the problem using RW26 then zip and attach your debug log from the PF3\Logs folder to your post. If this was the problem on your very last flight then you can send the log you have or if it was the flight before make sure you send us the old debug log.

You never actually reached your initial cleared altitude of 7,000'

Hi Dave,

I can assure you I did. I use the Aerosoft A320 and it definitely reached 7000ft on the correct QNH. In fact, on an earlier flight when I had the same problem, at 7000ft I started to climb to 9500ft only to be nagged by ATC to "maintain 7000ft". So, on the flight I sent you I stayed at 7000ft to see what happened. As I reported, I got instruction to climb only after passing RTT. With such high mountains, it was a bit hairy to say the least!

The turn at RTT is around 160deg so the a/c starts its turn a bit before RTT and does not actually pass directly over RTT. Could this be something?

Cheers
Bill

I think the issue may be you changed TA for the airport but not for the region, which is what is used is used by Departure. Did you change the TA for the airport to 11000? TA for the region is still set at 5000 so PF3 is using standard altimeter above 5000.
Quote:
18/07/2018 11:23:18: 010 - TA set to: 11000
18/07/2018 11:23:18: 010 - PF Region: 10
Quote:
18/07/2018 11:55:34: 760 - TA set to: 5000
18/07/2018 11:55:34: 760 - PF Region: 10
18/07/2018 11:55:34: 890 - Transcript: 'Speedbird 353 Contact departure on 123.6 '
TAs for the region are set at Options #1, Trans Alt & Alt Baro Calls screen.

Yes, I have airport TA at 11000 and region (German) at 5000.

I thought (perhaps wrongly) that the region TA was a default setting that was over-ridden by the Airport TA (if one was entered)?

If I change region TA to 11000, will this not cause me a problem at the destination if I'm flying to, say, Dusseldorf?

Yes, it would of course, so that's not the solution.

The problem is that in the current version of PF3 the airport's TA setting is only used until you take off and head for waypoint one. At this moment PF3 internally switches to the region TA.

This has now been changed for the next release: the airport's TA will be used until you reach your first waypoint or your End of SID if you defined one.

Btw the destination airport's TA is used as soon as you reach your last waypoint.

Thanks for pointing this out!
