The best way for any customer (new or recurring) is to run the trial version. It's without any obligation and by far the best way to figure out what the new version is capable to do for the flight simmer.
It is limited to 30 days (unlike PF3's demo, which is limited in flight plan length and available voices), so I'd rather do it when I have more consecutive time available.
