Just to follow up, I've been successful so far in breaking up nearly every ATC center in North America to match the sectors present in the bvcf.bgl located in ..\World\Scenery. I've tried them on several flights with no apparent ill effect. I'd be happy to provide the revisions if there is interest!

It's actually quite simple once you get a process for editing CSVs set up in a spreadsheet; what's been taking me so long is that I've also been plotting everything in CAD so that if I decide to combine or otherwise edit some sectors manually, I can just draw it and dump out the coordinates.

I've also found a handful of significant overlaps by plotting many of the CenterSectors.dat entries in CAD software. Does anybody know how these affect the ATC?
Well done, sounds like you've done a great job. If you would like to email your change centers file I will make it available as an interim update... you could email it to me direct.

Will do. I'm not quite done with them yet, so it'll be a little while yet. I also got a little carried away and filled up the big gap in the Pacific. I've also found and noted a handful of default entries which may be problematic - a few that are "twisted" and also some with only 3 vertices (i.e. lines as opposed to polygons).

Also, on my last flight (KJFK-KPDX, the longest attempt with these changes thus far), PF3 stopped handing me off somewhere in Salt Lake Center and effectively "froze". I could still communicate with my last Center contact and also hear AI traffic, but I had to kill it lest I be nagged for descending and landing. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with my edits, because FSX had also crashed back around Fargo, ND (almost exactly halfway) and I restored the flight with a FSUIPC autosave and let PF3 restore itself as well. So it's possible there were other things in play and I would have been doomed regardless.

I have FSX well enough tuned that I average a crash now only at a rate of about 2-3x a year. Figures it had to happen on that flight. (It wasn't even the usual NTDLL, it was the Aerosoft FMGS.dll, a crash which I've never had before...)
