I was approaching KMDW at 8000 and wanted to get a lower altitude. I tried L and 4 for 4,000 numerous times, and no response from ATC. Then I tried CTRL shift L and same result. Any ideas? Can't remember which file you needed so I enclosed two of them .

Looking at the log you don't appear to be using the hotkey sequence correctly... from the manual...
Quote:
Press and hold the L key then press and release one of the top row numeric
keys (1 thru 9) to request a lower altitude.
It looks like you may be pressing and releasing the 'L' key and then hitting the '4' key?

I don't know if my memory is getting worse as I get older...
...I just can't remember how it used to be!

I tried both several times, pressing and holding L while pressing 4, and L then 4. Is L case sensitive ( have to be capital L)? I will try it again next flight.

Pilot error on my part. Forgot the part about holding the L key, pressing and releasing the 4 key and then releasing the L key.
