I just purchased and activated a registration for FSUIPC V. 3999z8...now PF3 and FDC both won't connect to flightsim.

"Incorrect version of FSUIPC, or not FSUIPC"

My version is the same and was working before...All I did was activate a registration...now both programs give me the same error.

(If I deactivate the registration both programs go back to working...)

That doesn't make any sense to me at all. PF3 doesn't know anything about fsuipc registration and doesn't check anything with regard to activation. There must be a simple answer but it escapes me right now.

You need to update FSUIPC.
http://forum.simflight.com/topic/80977-updated-modules/ has FSUIPC version 3.999z9b, the relevant changes is:
The z9b update merely enables Registrations purchased after the end of 2015 to work. The new registration period now applies till the end of 2025

The first thing I did was try to update the fsuipc version...but the link on the page was dead...i just checked, and it still is...what to do?

Don't use the main page of FSUIPC to download FSUIPC .. .sounds strange, but since Pete has no direct control over it, it is a bit neglected.
Always use the link I provided above (for your convenience here again: Updated Modules, and find the current installer there:
