George

I've just emailed you an interim version to try with an INI file switch to remove the tooltips from the FP adjustments page

Please let us know your findings

Good news. First test appears to be working. Am flying today's KIAD-RJAA United flight 803 right now. I've uploaded the flight plan. This is the first time a flight plan that exceeds 1 page has been successfully modified using the Adjust Altitudes...etc screen. I will test the flight plans that failed after I land in some 10 hours. Again, I didn't have time to test failing flight plans as for this flight to count for my virtual airline I have to fly at the same time the real flight flies. Sorry, I saw your email minutes before I had to get todays flight ready to go. Of course it likely wouldn't have gone without your fix!!! This is a real test of the entire sim. Longest flight time and over one page of waypoints. Yea!!! Please tell me why not showing tooltips made the difference.

Many, many thanks for keeping on this,
George

P.S. Need a volunteer for your beta team?

I've tested a number of the flight plans that used to fail and they are all now working. What magic didst thou wrought?
Of course there's bad news, but only for me. I ran out of memory just as I was pulling into the gate at RJAA so lost the flight.
Guess it's time to get a 64-bit sim. I need to see with which sim your software is compatible.

Cheers,
George

Well now I need to try and determine why your system has this problem... I will try and send another interim version for you to try at some point during the weekend as I would like to delve a bit deeper. In the meantime, just to eliminate memory issues, do you normally load and attempt to adjust your FP before starting FS and loading what I assume is a high-end third party aircraft? If not, please remove the temporary switch and try to recreate the problem with only PF3 running.

I never have FSX:SE running when I'm configuring PF3. I bring up FSX:SE after PF3 is ready to go. Am flying the PMDG 777 for the time being. Will add other aircraft after I've decided what to do with FSX:SE, such as dump it for P3D. As the Beatles said, "All it takes is cash". Or love, or something... I do have a ton of other addons, i.e. scenery, airports, GSX, UTX, GEX, FSGenesis Mesh, Ultimate Traffic II running alongside/inside FSX. I pipe in ActiveSky2016 from a second computer via SimConnect. Plus running Saitek Yoke, Throttle Quadrant, rudder pedals and the VRInsight MCP Combo II for Boeing. Lots of stuff, but it is a i7-6700K oc'd. One thing that made a difference was turning off hyper-threading. FSX just wasn't designed for it. Multiple cores, kinda, but multiple threads sharing a core, no. Would be better to have 6 cores but again $$$.

Do have a question. Does PF3, when running along side FSX:SE use any of the sim's address space? My sense is that it doesn't but reads contents of addresses/control blocks to exchange information with the sim. Today was the first time I ran out of memory in quite awhile. There is only so much you can do in a 32-bit address space. For the record I have 16GB in the PC.

Thanks for your efforts,
George

Hi George,

PF3 only reads data via FSUIPC

FSUIPC, what I thought and the way to go. Awaiting your modified PF3. Email getting as slow as traditional mail.
