I've gone back to P3DV3.4 for the time being but now, of course, I can't get PF3 to work.

Is there a way I can have it working on both simulators please?

John

Yes, you can have FS9, FSX, FSX Steam, P3D V3 and P3D V4 all installed on one machine and provided you have the correct version of FSUIPC installed for each sim then PF3 will work just fine. It really doesn't know anything about different sims it only communicates with FSUIPC. God bless Pete Dowson!

Thanks for the quick reply Dave but it begs another question. I know FSUIPC is free and I agree with your comment in regard to Pete Dowson but do I have to buy the P3Dv3.4 version of the Oncourse Software again?

There is no P3D V3 version of PF3... there is only one version of PF3 and that works with FS9, FSX, FSX-Steam, P3D V3 and P3D V4 provided you have the correct version of FSUIPC installed.

Ah, that explains it Dave, thanks. I've still got the V4 version of FSUIPC installed. I'll have to have a look for the old one.

Well, that didn't work. I've got FSUIPC V4 which is supposed to work PF3 with P3DV3.4 but, for some reason I can't get PF3 to work.

Having had it working with P3DV4, do I have to reinstall PF3 to get it to work with the new FSUIPC?

No, if it is the correct version of fsuipc and it's running when you start fs then PF3 will work

Thanks Dave. I was about to buy it again but I thought I would have another look around. I only found the folder in P3DV3.4 empty! I copied the contents from the V4 folder more in hope than judgement an I've now got it working perfectly again.

All the best.

John,

If you copied your fsuipc files from P3Dv4 into your empty p3dv3.4 folder... and they now work in p3dv3... then I think you had the wrong/incompatible version of fsuipc installed in p3dv4.

Fsuipc4.x (latest version is 4.971) is *only* for FSX, FSX-SE and Prepar3D v1.4-v3.4
Fsuipc5 (latest version is 5.113) is a separate product to fsuipc4 and is for P3Dv4 *only*. If you want the paid version of fsuipc5 it is a separate/additional license fee to that for the paid version of fsuipc4.

Cheers,
Peter
