As you know, I'm a bit thick. Since the recent update I only ever get 'Taxi to Terminal' How can I get 'Taxi to Gate' or 'Parking' occasionally?

Thanks,

John

Options #2 > Advanced Options, untick Gate Parking Only. PF3 will then consider sending you to parking spots (as well as gates) after you land. Also you may want to reduce your AI percentage a bit. The "Taxi to Terminal" instruction is given when PF3 can't find a vacant place to send you. (I think you will also get that instruction when PF3 cannot find a valid taxi path from your location after you have exited the runway, but that should not happen often.)

You can designate a parking spot in PF3 under the tab "Designated Parking Control" on Options#2 button, enter ICAO code ie: EGLL, hit return button and select from list of gates/parking, make sure you don't have "Gate Parking" selected/checked on Options 2 tab under "Advanced Options and Tweaks"...otherwise you will get default Taxi to Terminal.
You can also alter the afcad file with an editor suitable for your Windows O/S not AFX 1.10 and Windows 10 as it just doesn't play ball...but something similar, this would mean having to designate the particular gate with the type of aircraft and maybe alter the parameters, see the manual on designated parking...you wouldn't necessary stop AI from parking in your spot but it may help to stop it most of the time and give you the space you want.

Or another thing you could try... if you have traffic turned up high, then turn it low that way you may also have a chance of grabbing a parking spot.

Thanks the two 'D's

I'll try those suggestions with the exception of the traffic reduction. I like to see things busy! :)

Be careful on having sliders too high as it could slow your system right down as it will be a frame rate hit, it's a case of "striking a happy medium"..

Dave, Sorry mate but I don't think you know my system. I can run everything at least at 75% and get no frame rate loss or memory problems.

Blimey, that's tempting providence!

Well, it certainly isn't me. I often walk into a room (and we haven't got many) but having got there, I can't remember what I went in there for so I go back and sit down. Then I remember what I wanted to do and discover I was in the wrong room anyway!!!

Makes you wonder how I ever get a 'plane in the air doesn't it?!!!
