Hi there. Am I the only one who has PF3 crash to desktop when I try to select an alternate airport? First I open PF3, then I select my flight plan. When I get asked for an alternate airport, I am able to enter the ICAO in the text box, but the "Use Alternate" button does not change colors (unclickable grey). "Skip Alternate" and "Cancel" can be clicked. When I hit Enter on my keyboard after entering the ICAO code, PF3 crashes to desktop without an error code. Did I do something wrong?

Attached are my logs - the crash to desktop is the latest event I have done with PF3 before posting here. I get the same error whether or not FSX is running so I am ruling out "other software" at this point.

OS: Windows 10, 64-bit
FS: FSX Steam Edition

Thank you in advance. I am still learning how to use PF3 but it makes my flights much more enjoyable than the default FSX ATC.

The error is:
4/21/2017 6:30:49 PM: 750 - ****** ERROR ****** 52 FindAirport at Loc: FA
I don't have this problem.
Which alternate did you enter?

So far I have tried it twice with flight plans created by FSX's default planner. One was LPPS and another, today, was KBOS. Do they work for you?

Both alternates also worked for me so there is something amiss with your scenery or your runways.csv which is created by makerwys. Perhaps rather than have an error that stops PF3 Dave could insert an error trap instead e.g. "Alternate not available." And then go back a step to allow you to either choose another one or not to.

Please attach your PF3.INI so I can check a few things.

The problem centers around the \data\PF3fsxdata.idx file so AFTER you've provided you PF3.INI file please try rebuilding your PF3 database then see if that cures the issue.

Please see attached, Dave. One is from before I rebuilt my PF3 database and one is from after. Still no joy in entering KBOS without a crash to desktop.

*5 MINUTES LATER*

Never mind, it works. I use this navaid update http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html. First I uninstalled it (it backs up all original navaids) and rebuilt the database. I then reinstalled the navaids and rebuilt the database again. Now entering alternate airports work. :D I guess you won't need the attached files but just in case. Thank you for your assistance, everyone.

I use this navaid update, too. Except for a duplicate frequency (new DME station had the same frequency as a nearby and now defunct ILS of an add-on airport) I never had problems with it.
