Correct, you don't need to add procedural data but PF3 still allows you to fly them if you wish.

Just want to add that in North America things can get more complicated because the STARs can get very long, and in some cases the STAR transition is 200 or more miles from the destination airport. In these cases you are going to want to add some of the early STAR waypoints to your PF3 flight plan so your last waypoint is a reasonable distance from the airport, as Dave mentioned.

Thanks guys

Will give this a go at the weekend. PF3 is still a little new to me, I was used to another ATC product so I am going through the learning curve. Support on here is great!

Regards

Ken ;)

Sorry guys, one final question, I guess that the airport is not classed as a waypoint by PF3 even although it says so in the flight plan?

Correct, when we talk about the first or last waypoint it does not include either departure or destination airports

What I usually do is when flying to Amsterdam is that I put the STAR in the flightplan with the Transition being the last waypoint (RIVER, ARTIP...)
That way I'm always far enough from the runway. Works on most of the airports in Europe

Just finished a five hour flight and was given descent and Star instructions. Fantastic. I used the first waypoint of the Star as the final flight plan way point. Happy camper now 😉 Thanks for all the tips guys, much appreciated.
