So after you double click the 'please wait' display is the 'connect' button then active, because it looks like everything is working and the flight plan has been processed with no errors?

As a process of elimination, if the 'connect' button is still greyed out after you close the 'please wait' display please try again but this time leave the 'please wait' display alone... it should timeout on its own after 60 seconds. Then see if the 'connect' button is active and you can connect and use the flight plan. I'm obviously not suggesting you will have to wait for the timeout every time, just trying to get a handle on what is amiss on your system.

The 'Please wait" screen does not time-out after 60 sec. It just keeps running. (for 6 minutes now)
I can close it by double clicking, but then the connect button remains grey and the whole program becomes unresponsive. (I can not click on anything in PFE anymore, I get the windows waiting icon in stead of the normal mouse pointer)

Kind regards, and thanks for your assistance!

Nico

hello,

I just installed PFE3 and updated it to 3.1.7.
Thus far, I have not been able to compile/process a single flightplan.

Just to be clear, you do not compile any flight plans in PF3. Are you still trying to use PFE as well ?

Hi,

No, PFE has been removed prior to the PFE3 install.

Kind regards,

Nico

Hi guys,

Good news, I've been able to solve the issue myself. Found an old topic describing exactly the same problem as I experienced.
User was able to solve it performing a registry clean using regcure pro. I did exactly the same thing and indeed, problem solved...
So probably an old PFE entry in the registry then?

Kind regards,

Nico

Hey, well done and thanks for the update. :D

You won't believe this but I have this dim and distant bell ringing in my head about the registry and just couldn't remember what it was about.

Now, how do I search the forum?
