Look here For PF3 LIPZ Venezia to LOWI Innsbruck. Taking the ROKIB 6J departure in order to get to cruise as quickly as possible and also to avoid Treviso airspace. Then descending onto the BRENO 2A to Rattenberg before the let down into Innsbruck itself.

A demanding approach and a complex aircraft. Well done!

Thanks Dave,
Kai Tak isn't/wasn't such a tight turn. The problem there is/was that there was invariable a hefty tail wind on the IGS meaning that you had to account for that in your turn onto the runway heading. So that's why you see videos of pilots either under or overcooking the turn. There's one of Alitalia almost landing on the grass I think.

Innsbruck on the other hand just requires a 30deg bank at 135kts max or less for the final turn onto rwy 08. So you just need to make sure your weight and balance shedule gives you Vat+5=135kts max. The real limiting factor at Innsbruck is the missed approach procedure. a Full power climbout at max 155kts with maximum a left turn radius of 1,700meters. Even the VC10 can only just manage that!! Guaranteed that after landing the cleaners would complain of numerous brown stains on the seats.

FSX had a training flight into Innsbruck using a Cessna 172 that got engine failure and you had to glide it in.

I've flown in there twice since. I had to 'go around' on the first one and managed to do a nice nose dive straight into the neighbouring mountainside! :(

Recently, I took on the challenge again with LM 3.3.5 and the Real Air Duke Turbine. Either I've got better or the aircraft controls are much improved because this time I got it down and turned before I run out of runway! :D
