Hi Dave,

Can you tell me if I need to setup the PF3 PTT button/key on the client PF3 installation if MCE is on my FS PC and I've setup the MCE PTT as a button on my Saitek Yoke? I've selected no voice for my pilot voice and the CP mode is 0. Do I also need to change the PF3 PTT pause interval?

Voice is setup OK on the FS PC with MCE and I can hear PF3 through Multiplicity and I thought MCE would happily generate the keypresses that PF3 was looking for but this doesn't seem to be working (or at least very, very occasionally) although my Goflight modules are sending appropriate keys 0-9 and roger/readback. I wondered if this extra step - setting up the PTT on PF3 was what was missing?

Regards,
Paul.

Hi,

Remember PF3 does not communicate with MCE at all. The PTT button is there to put PF3 into pause mode to give you ample time give you voice commands to MCE

What exactly is the problem you're having?

Thanks for the reply Dave.

I thought it was something like that as I was aware that PF3 didn't send anything to MCE but that the reverse was true.

Two questions -
1. If I set my send-button on the yoke connected to the FS PC to send a key (setup via FSUIPC), and I set the PTT key to the same key (F8) in PF3, will PF3 on my networked PC see the keypress as it sees other commands being generated by my Goflight ATC module also on my FS PC?

2. Given the nature of my networked setup and the potential for latency - would it be better to have a longer pause when the PTT button is pressed?

Regards,
Paul.

PS: Just finished a cracking flight in the LA Basin - KTOA-KCMA, the weather was beautiful - more clear than I have seen it for a while and the light created by the sim was amazing - I could almost feel the gentle warmth of the sun as I taxied in at Camarillo, shut down the engines and opened the door! Talking to ATC was the cream on top!

#1 It certainly should do

#2 Only you can determine that will trial and error I'm afraid.
