Just to comment how great PF3 is when it all comes together. I guess the CM facility kicked in - taxiing from the Gate 05 to Rwy 08 at EGGW, EasyJet a320. Another EasyJet a320 approaching from another taxiway to the left stopped and gave me lots of room, then continued taxiing when I was well clear. It waitied well behind me as I waited for runway clearance and stayed put as I moved into position. I saw it begin to move onto the runway as I was drawing the landing gear up.

OK, TGS got the position of runway 8 wildly wrong, but apart from that, it was all so nice!!! I wish it would work like that every flight...

Hi Martin, I've used that airport a lot myself in the past (it's my local) and never had a problem. When you say it got it wildly wrong what exactly do you mean and could I see the log file please. Are you using default EGGW or an addon?

Hi Dave. I didn't add details here, as I mentioned the problem in another thread, which I see you have already replied to

Test results:

1. Moved an aircraft to runway 8 and opened FS_Earth and FS Navigator, as well as AFCAD2. Also opened the default FS9 airport in AFCAD2. All showed the exact same spot for the threshold/.start point to runway 8.
2. The data in runways.csv as to the co-ordinates of the runway matches that shown in the FS9 onscreen menu, when I move the aircraft to runway 8, and also with the runway co-ordinates shown in AFCAD2 for the AFCAD file used.
3. Co-ordinates in runways.txt agrees with the above as well
4. Searched my whole FS9 installation for other AFCADs that might conflict.. no results.

TGS told me that I had arrived at the runway somewhere near Gate 2, "miles" away.

However, a propos of your reply to my post elsewhere....
Quote:
the first port of call if the TGS is giving you duff information is to check the afcad file and check that a. All the taxiways "are" linked. b. That they are linked with the correct link form and c. They have correct designations.
.... AFCAD2 did show two taxi links had wrong designators, which I have corrected. That is the only error I found. I corrected it and will try the same flight again later.

Thanks.

Fixed the designators, ran MakeRunways, ran the PF3 database updater, but at the Eiresim Luton EGGW scenery, TGS still tells me I have reached runway 8 just before I pass gate 3. I paused FS9 immediately and took notes - TGS (audio, the in-cockpit gauge - still working - and the FSUIPC display window that pops up), tells me I am at the holding point at co-ordinates N51 52.66 W0 22.76 (W51.8777 W0.3793).

The entry in my runways.csv for EGGW Runway 08 is 51.871273 -0.382897, which, when I look at the AFCAD, is exactly where the start location is. Same co-ordinates for the default FS9 airport as well. ATC sends AI traffic to the correct location too...

So if TGS is getting its data from MakeRunways.csv, why, I venture to ask, is it saying I am at the runway at a location quite different from that in the csv file?
