Hi,

I was just hoping someone could tell me how this interacts via voice control. Currently I am using VoxATC, however it does give cause for frustration at times. What I would like a decent amount of realism where by it will allow the use of departure SID's and arrival STAR's, and vectors. This I believe it can do from the instructions.

And how easy it it to request a different FL, Vox seems never to allow a level change which is annoying!

I am running a W10 machine with FSX-Steam, so I'm looking to find a ATC program that can do voice and button control if needed.

Regards Rob

Hi Rob

I'm sorry I'm unable to answer your question re: voice as I don't use it but for higher/lower altitudes, just use your Hotkeys 'H' & 'L'.
Check out 8.5 on page 78/79 of the manual for the sequence use ;)

The MCE developer said they will have an update very soon to ensure PF3 works with that... although I believe there may be a workaround to use the current version.

Thanks for the replies guys :)

I have to say that I'm very tempted, I will be very, very tempted if it can be controlled like Vox by voice. Is it worth hanging on for the update to see if does work via voice?

Regards Rob

Just a question, is there voice support for the native Windows voice recognition ( I'm on WIN 10 )? Or is this something that is a future integration?

Cheers Rob

This (again) isn't much help from me, Rob, as I don't use it but the manual does state "PF3 is configurable for most voice recognition programs." Sounds quite positive I'd've thought ;)

I also used voxatc before and was confused at first.

PF3 with voice recognition is not the same as voxatc. You cannot talk to ATC via voice directly.
What you can do is assign several phrases of your choice to each hotkey of PF3. You need a program like VAC to do so. So it won't work with the windows voice recognition alone as far as I understand it.
Depending on the phrases and the PF3 settings you can simulate telling your FO what to say and do or communicating with ATC yourself.

I quite like it and can recommend VAC (dwvac.com). It's easy to setup and offers lots of possibilities, not only for PF3.

No, Windows integrated speech recognition won't let you do that.

Right now, MCE is one option for you. That puts PFE on a par with VoxATC as far as speech reco is concerned.

No need to setup anything, like creating countless profiles and such.

MCE picks up the current call-sign, works out what hotkeys are used and lets you speak proper ATC phraseology (with built-in flexibility to allow for variations).

Right now MCE only handles older PFE (V2.15).

We are in the process of adapting it to PF3. Should be GO before the end of this month.

The PFEtoXPlane (which lets you use PFE with X-Plane) will also be updated to recognize and work with PF3.
