Hello,

is there a possibility to play the sound of PF3 through a secondary audio device?

I'd like to hear the PF3-sound through my headphones that are connected to a secondary sound card while I'd like all other sounds through the speakers that are connected to the standard device sound card.

PF3 seems to play the sounds only through the standard audio device.

Switching the standard device to the headphones wouldn't help because then I would have all other simulator sounds also on the headphones. I could choose the audio device in P3D of course but not in several addons I also use. So I need to change PF3 to the secondary audio device. Any way to do that (Win7)?

If not could you please implement such a feature in a future update. ATC through a different sound device than all the other sounds would be more realistic I think.

Thank you.

Ralf

We don't have anything in place to do that but I do remember someone, sometime ago, on the PFE forum I believe, achieving such a thing. Might be worth a search.

Thanks for the suggestion

Thankfully not - having worked around that industry for a number of years, I know I'd have trouble staying awake

Thank you for the link to the old topic.

Unfortunately this procedure does not work any more. At least not on my system. The sound switches to the new device as soon as I assign a new standard device, even in running apps.
Maybe Win7 has changed in this respect since 2009 or it depends on the soundcard in use.

So - if nobody else has an idea - I hope that you find the suggestion to make the audio device configurable makes sense and is implementable in your next update.

Regards
Ralf

Another workaround would be to run PF3 on a different (real or virtual) computer and connect if to your flight simulator via WideFS. Then the sound comes from that computer and can be played where you like.

Thank you for that idea.

I found a solution in a little freeware tool.

https://www.reddit.com/r/software/comme ... chevolume/

A configurable option inside PF3 would still be better of course.
