Just wondering, it was possible to voice control PFE via MCE. Is that still possible with PF3 ?

PF3 User Guide
18. USING VR SOFTWARE WITH PF3
18.1 Overview
There are no restrictions as to which Voice Recognition software you use with
PF3 and to the best of our knowledge there are no major compatibility issues
with any of them.
18.2 Setting up PF3
This section is aimed directly at how you must setup PF3 in order to use it
alongside voice recognition software. We neither have the time or knowledge
to describe how you should configure your VR program.
The first thing you need to do is go to the Main Menu Options #1 page and
select 'None' for the Pilot's voice. You will find further details on how to do
this in section 7.1.3 which you may already have read.
Next you need to select VCP mode 1, or even turn it off completely. Again you
will find details about this in section 7.1.4
Finally you have to activate the hotkey you will use as your PTT switch, the
default key is not activated when you first install PF3

From one of our beta tester way back last October

"Well, to my absolute delight I just flew yesterday with pfe3 and mce!"

Hey Mike,

Just wondering if you were able to get this working with MCE?

I'd like to try this with MCE as well...but I haven't been able to figure it out...

I currently use MCE with RC4. It allows me (myself) to initialise voice contact with ATC, and then after getting CLEARANCE, PUSHBACK and TAXI instructions, hand the COMMS over to the MCE virtual CoPilot for the remainder of the flight.

On reading the PFE3 user guide, it states that for VR the pilot voice should be set to None, and VCopilot set mode to 1 or off.

My questions is:
Is it possible to start with ones own voice interface to ATC and then hand over to the VCopilot, by using hot keys to change VCP mode? Not sure how one then sets the chosen VCP voice as the user guide says this has to be set to None?

Also, is there a document which outlines what PFE accepts as VR ATC requests / read backs?

Thanks for any clarification.

Stuart
