I am probably doing something wrong but I cannot stop my (MS) auto pilot disconnecting when I run the Approach checklist. I have tried various tweaks to the checklist including setting A/P on but every time it disconnects as I get near to the airport.
If I omit the approach checklist then all is fine.

Hi Ian,
need abit more info please,
What version are you using?
What aircraft are you using, stock or 3rd party addon?
What tweaks have you done?
Any error messages(see the Blackbox log)?
Have you read the manual and checked the FAQ's for possible answer(s)

Ian,

Have you checked the VCP options?

Options/Flightdeck Calls/VCP Options/Landing

On that page there is an option to turn the AP Off at XX ft

OK.
I have confirmed after much trial and error that it is the VCP who calls for the A/P to be turned off. The PF complies.
The plane is a standard B737-800.
The checklist setting is Auto 1.
I have a bare minimum of commands in the Approach checklist and NONE whatsoever concerning A/P.
The VCP settings only have A/P and A/T to be turned off at 1000'. The VCP, as mentioned, is calling for A/P to be turned off during the Approach checklist.
The are no errors in the Black box log.
Version 3.11.0.
Can't find an answer in the manual.
If you need any more info, please ask.

Hi Ian,
just re-read your post, have you modified the approach checklist anyway, with you saying that you have the bare minimum of commands thats all,

Hi Dave,

I refused to be beaten by this, so I cleared the approach list completely and then recreated it. I saved everything at all stages, including my profile and guess what? it now works perfectly.
I still don't quite know what I did wrong, but my guess is that I didn't save something that I thought I had; so it was applying the wrong setup.

Ian

One common mistake is that you might forget to select the changed checklist... these appear at the end of the drop down list prefixed with the word 'User:'
