Hello,

Built a new client machine. Tried to simply copy an old install onto the new drive. I have this old standing issue, where the program splash screen comes up, but not the actual interface. Everything just hangs at the splash.

At any rate, I removed everything and tried to reinstall from Ground 0. No luck, I keep getting an SSL error when I try to connect to register via Simmarket. It's like somehow, I can't reach the outside world.

Stuck on this one, would still like to use the program with P3d.

Hope you can help.

Sorry I don't understand what your problem is exactly. What are you trying to register with simmarket?

Hi Dave,

Trying to install the program on a new computer. I have to register it with either Aerosoft or Simmarket.

I have a valid serial, but when I try to install the program, it will not allow me to go any further due to the error I reported in my OP.

To be honest, I think I may have purchased it from both places back in the day! I actually found my original FDC CD too!

I have tried it on another computer, same errors.

I also tried to simply copy the old build onto the new machine, but the program hangs at the splash screen. So, I figured I needed to install from scratch from the last place I purchased.

Thanks,

John

Well I'm sorry but I can't help you with the registration process of Aerosoft or SimMarket and you would have to contact them for support in that regard.

Guess that's how it ends. Good run though, 20 years.

Well it shouldn't be... have you contacted them? What was the response?

Just for clarity. I download the product, no issue. When I try to install, I cannot get past the registration without the SSL error. I fill out my e-mail, I fill out my simmarket account information and the Registration key for this product, then when I click next, there is a message that says I need to be connected to the internet. Of course, I am, so I click next and I get the SSL error which says "Error Connecting with the SSL" When I click Okay, the install program just hangs in the background and I can only end through the Task Manager (Ctl-Alt-Del)

As soon as I terminate it, another warning comes up "No Secure Connection". I click on Okay, and return to the original installshield wizard screen

Is this a problem at your end? Is there something that the install wizard needs to communicate that its not receiving from their end or is there just some outdated process that no longer functions?

Is there anyway to bypass all of this and install through confirmation with you that I purchased this many moons ago? I want to keep using this old friend, I don't want to re-purchase if I'm headed down the same road with the same type of software.

Or some help from your end, that would allow me to pull the old install onto the new machine? Not sure why the program hangs at the splash screen. Surely, we have some options to keep this alive

We have nothing to do with the registration, that is all handled by SimMarket so I'm somewhat surprised you got the response you did. If you email me direct I might have a solution. :D
