I have been using FDC since the S-Combo days without any problem however recently that has changed. I now have a problem where the PNF calls are not being made on some occasions - the PF response is still made however, when hitting the Space Bar. This occurs on approximately 20% of the checklist calls. This problem started several months back and I think it was after doing an FSUIPC update. I have since re-updated FSUIPC with the latest version but it has not cured the problem. The Logs.zip file is attached (sorry for duplicate copies - couldn't see where to delete extra copies!!). Any help would be appreciated.

What sim are you using and what aircraft are you having problems with?

Hi Dave, sorry for the late reply. I am using FSX and the problem occurs with all aircraft.

I have found that the calls not being made are the asterisked (*) items and the problem is common to all checklists and for all aircraft that I have checklists for. I have reinstalled FDC 3.14 update but the problem persists. Any help to resolve this issue would be appreciated.

I am using FSX on Win10

To add to my previous post, on the calls that are not being made, the response is there OK by hitting the space bar but I have found that the asterisked (*) items in the Reply column of the checklists are also not being made.

The marked calls are interactive and if that particular item cannot be accessed on a third party aircraft will be the reason they're not working. Please try in a default aircraft to see if you have the same problem.

Thank you for your very quick reply. Wow, I haven't used a default aircraft for 12 or 15 years!!! However, I loaded the default Baron 58 and opened the original Baron 58 checklist that came with FDC Live Cockpit when first installed. The result was the same - asterisked items were silent.

I am aware the interactive items do not work with third party aircraft (or at best they work sometimes) however the asterisked items, which are the ones that are the problematic ones, "are only available when using one of FDC's 'Extended' Voice Sets". I have been using FDC for many years with third party aircraft from different vendors without any problem - I am not aware of anything that has changed in my system, with FSX or FDC installations - the missing voice problem just mysteriously happened a couple of months ago.

I am not sure what the "Extended Voice Sets" are or if the are allocated to any particular voice set, so I tried each and every voice set but the problem was the same with each of them.

I look forward to your reply..........

None of the log files you supplied above are of any use unfortunately. Please recreate the problem and then zip and attach the blackbox log. Please also give a brief summary of what you tried and what you did or didn't hear.

Thank you for your reply. The actions I have taken to help resolve the problems after they suddenly occurred are as follows:

1. Checked that no selections had been made within FDC that would cause the problem. All appeared OK.
2. Checked that my system sound/audio configuration was OK. (FDC was the only program where the sound/audio was affected).
3. Checked Google and forums to see if problem had been discussed there. Could not find any similar instances.
4. Uninstalled and reinstalled FDC Live Cockpit and Update 3.14. This re-installation did not resolve the problem.
5. Opened the Checklist Editor and loaded a checklist. On page 3, selected a call item and selected “Play Selection” – the audio for each played OK except for asterisked items, e.g. *Cowl Flaps. When selecting “Play Selection” for an asterisked item (and any other asterisked item in the checklist) there was no audio.
6. Turned up the volume to maximum in case the audio for these asterisked items was low volume for any reason. Proved not to be the cause.

Have run through a complete checklist for a Carenado C210M and you can see (presumably from the Black Box Log), which calls have no audio. As an example, the Pre-Start Checklist is as follows:

Call Reply Call Audio Reply Audio

Shoulder Harness Checked OK OK
Loose Objects & Equipment Checked OK OK
Parking Brake Set OK OK
*Cowl Flaps Open No Audio OK
Avionics Off OK OK
Landing Gear Lever Down OK OK
Battery Switch On OK OK
Circuit Breakers Checked OK OK
*Fuel Selector Switch Set No Audio OK

Before Start Checklist as follows:

*Mixture *Full Rich No Audio No Audio
Propellers High RPM OK OK
Fuel Boost Pumps On OK OK
Throttles Checked OK OK
Beacon Switch Set OK OK
Engine Ignition Both OK OK
*Engine and Prop Area *Clear No Audio No Audio

I completed a complete Check List and the Black Box contents was sent to you via email (I could no see and option to zip it up and attach to this post). The check list was run through on the ground hence the “Gear Up” interactive call created and alarm!!

Trust this is all you require and many thanks for your assistance.

Regards
Neil Wright
