VCP deployed flaps in cruise...this damaged the aircraft so that flaps would not extend for landing...another wasted flight...

Well this can only happen if you let your speed fall, which it appears you did! :o

Why was it a wasted flight, if this happened in real life would a pilot just simply hit the "Off" button to abandon flight...no he/she would nurture the aircraft down with a bit of forward planning...why not try that in future.

yes i could have turned it into a failure procedure simulation...but the FO is never going to deploy flaps in cruise by mistake...so it wasnt even a realistic failure scenario...but more important...I cant have this happen ...i cant fly again until i know this wont re-occur...

can you tell me more about the speed fall?...how can i go from 500mph to 160 while in cruise with the throttles set?...also...isnt there a limit for flaps deployment over 12000ft? i was at the yoke and didnt see the speed fall...which had to have been tremendous to go from cruise speed to flaps1 speed in an instant

thanks for taking a look...
