| I am getting this error message when trying to run FDC in FSX. Any help will be appreciated. Error:-1073741674 - Automation error in "SetupDirectSound" routine. |

| I responded in PFE forum. This now sounds like a windows error,maybe a runtime or .net issue. |

| Ran dxdiag No problems found. As this is occurring in both FDC and PFE is there a tool I could run to check for windows error's and runtime or .net issue's? |

| As I suggested with PFE, please try installing the cumulative updates package |

| Do you have version 1.0 on CD ? check the FAQ here : http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/fdc_faqs.htm in case you reinstall from scratch make sure to delete the FDC folder in case it is still there |

| Also sounds like something may have uninstalled a previous version of .NET |

| I have FDC Live Cockpit version 3.6 on cd with the registration key. I also cant open PFE, REX or FTX Central and suspect the problems may be related. |

| Happy to report problem solved. Somehow .NET was corrupted and after much google searching found a tool to fix .NET issues. Now FDC and PFE are loud and clear. Also have REX and FTX Central working.  |
